These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between Wright’s Decorating (“we”, “us”, or “the Contractor”) and the client (“you” or “the Customer”) for the provision of painting and decorating services.
1. Estimates and Quotations
1.1. All estimates provided are based on a visual inspection and are subject to change if unforeseen issues arise (e.g., blown plaster, damp, or structural defects).
1.2. A formal Quotation will be provided in writing. This price is fixed for the scope of work described. Any additions or variations requested by the Customer will be charged as extra.
1.3. Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
2. Client Obligations
2.1. Access: The Customer must provide clear access to the property during agreed working hours.
2.2. Preparation: Unless otherwise agreed in the quotation, the Customer is responsible for moving furniture, removing wall hangings, and clearing the work area of fragile items. We accept no liability for damage to items left in the work area.
2.3. Utilities: The Customer shall provide use of electricity and water at no cost to the Contractor.
3. Materials and Workmanship
3.1. We will carry out all work with "reasonable care and skill" as per the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
3.2. We use high-quality materials unless specified otherwise. If the Customer provides the materials, we cannot guarantee the finish or durability of the product.
3.3. Standard of Finish: Surfaces will be viewed in natural daylight from a distance of 2 metres. Minor imperfections that are not visible under these conditions are not considered defects.
4. Payments and Deposits
4.1. Deposits: A deposit may be required to secure a start date or to cover the cost of specialist materials. This is non-refundable if the project is cancelled within [X] days of the start date.
4.2. Payment Terms: Full payment is due upon completion of the work unless staged payments have been agreed upon in writing.
4.3. Late Payments: We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at the rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate.
5. Cancellations and Delays
5.1. Customer Cancellation: If you wish to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 7 days' notice. Cancellations made with less notice may incur a fee to cover lost labour time.
5.2. Contractor Delays: We avre not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control (e.g., extreme weather for exterior work, supplier shortages, or illness).
6. Liability and Insurance
6.1. Wright’s Decorating holds valid Public Liability Insurance.
6.2. While we take every precaution to protect your property (using dust sheets, masking tape, etc.), we are not liable for minor "dusting" or accidental spills on unprotected surfaces if the Customer failed to clear the area as requested.
7. Privacy and Data Protection (GDPR)
7.1. We will only use your personal information (name, address, contact details) to provide our services and process payments. Your data will never be sold to third parties.
7.2. We may take "before and after" photos of the work for marketing purposes (social media/website). We will ensure no personal items or identifying features of the home are visible unless you give explicit permission.
8. Complaints
8.1. In the unlikely event of a dispute, please contact us immediately. We aim to resolve all issues amicably and will return to rectify any genuine defects in workmanship free of charge.
9. Governing Law
9.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Acceptance of Terms
By accepting our quotation and instructing us to proceed with the work, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Wright's Painting & Decorating Services is based in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex and provides interior decorating, exterior painting, wallpapering and furniture painting services on domestic and commercial premises.
Covering the majority of Essex and Hertfordshire including Bishops Stortford, Braintree, Brentwood, Broxbourne, Buntingford, Chelmsford, Great Dunmow, Epping, Harlow, Saffron Walden, Sawbridgeworth, & Stebbing.
